“Rainbow Lorikeet Plaque” PLQ10 by Helen Dale Limited to 25
A common sight along the eastern seaboard, from northern Queensland to South Australia, Rainbow Lorikeets are no less exciting the moment they are seen. Their brilliantly-colourful plumage and noisy screeching and squawks makes a feast for the senses. The birds lay their eggs on chewed or decayed wood, usually in a hollow limb of a eucalyptus tree. In Helen’s design, a cosy, colourful pair find a vantage point in the blossoming branches of a live eucalyptus tree whose flowers show delicate pink stamens with an attractive shade of yellow at the tips. Nestled into each other, these loveable birds suggest a warm radiance and bring a welcome splash of bright rainbow colours to further enrich Moorcroft art.
