Solomon’s seal, also known as the ladder of heaven, has graceful, arching stems with pleated oval leaves. These are joined by lightly scented, green-tipped, white bell-like flowers in May and June which enjoy growing in shadier areas of woodland, where, if undisturbed, they will naturalise and form clumps, bringing a carpet of white bells to the woodland floor.
