Gatekeeper Butterfly by Moorcroft
Gatekeeper Butterfly by Moorcroft 393/7 by Vicky Lovatt limited to 30. Vicky’s choice was a striking Gatekeeper butterfly with his orange body tipped with brown edges and black and white circles. Also known as the hedge brown, this butterfly is most commonly found in southern and eastern Britain and coastal areas of south and south-east Ireland. The Gatekeeper is a golden butterfly that provides a welcome sight in the middle of summer, when the adults start to emerge. This delicate butterfly spends much of its time basking with wings open in the hot summer sun and here in this design, it enjoys bright yellow Common Ragwort, soft clouds of Wild Marjoram, and delicately tubelined Bramble blossom and berries.
