A group of customers are already pressuring us to do a trip in 2018 if we get enough interest So let Malar know if you would like to go, we have not put an agenda together as yet but we have checked out Venice and we have also just been to Sri Lanka which was great, so one of these destinations might be added to the trip depending on interest.
In August 2015, ten of our Moorcroft collectors group explored the Cornwall area right down to Lands End, then on to all things pottery, from Royal Crown Derby to Royal Worcester, Wedgwood and of course Moorcroft. Everyone got to make a piece of Moorcroft then we were off to Sherwood Forrest with Robin Hood, pub dinners, shopping, shopping and more shopping, then on to York with a steam train ride to Whitby to taste the UK’s supposed best fish and chips and finishing off at a 3,000 stall antique and collectors fair. (They all had a great time)
During the previous trip our happy group spent time in Barcelona for a taste of all things Gaudi and the Spanish culture and of course the tapas then the English leg up to Stoke on Trent to focused on the Midlands, visiting Moorcroft, and all things pottery with a day in Chester checking out the Roman ruins and high tea on a narrowboat.
Everyone made their own piece of Moorcroft at a behind the scene tour of the Moorcroft factory, it was Moorcroft’s 100 year celebration since the opening of their factory, so it was a very special time for all and we all brought back some amazing pots and a certificate proving we were there, along with members of the BBC antique shows and various dignitaries, plus lots of stories.
